Overview
Two types of bilingual programs are available in NYC public schools:
- Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE)
- Dual Language (DL)
These programs strengthen students’ native language development and content knowledge while they build their social and academic English skills.
We also provide English as a New Language (ENL) programs that use strategies for English language development with native language support. This helps students develop language and content knowledge in English.
