NYC School Survey

Survey Overview

Every year, we ask families, teachers and staff of students in grades 3-K through 12, and students in grades 6-12 to take the NYC School Survey. The survey is designed to collect important information about each school's ability to support student success. School leaders can use feedback from the survey to reflect and improve schools and programs. You can learn more about the NYC School Survey by contacting your school or program.

Help Shape the NYC School Survey

We've heard consistent feedback that the Teacher and Support Staff Survey is too long — and we're doing something about it. We're revising the survey to reduce burden and make sure what remains reflects what matters most to teachers and support staff today.

We want to hear from you. Whether you're a teacher, school leader, or central staff, your perspective helps us build a survey that gives schools actionable data they'll actually use. Tell us which questions should stay, which need a refresh, and which can go.

Note for goal-setting: Next year will be a new baseline year for the Teacher and Support Staff Survey. As you plan ahead, keep this in mind — now is a great time to think about what data will be most meaningful for your work going forward.
