Survey Overview

Every year, we ask all families, teachers and staff of grades 3-K through 12, and students in grades 6-12 to take the NYC School Survey. The survey is designed to collect important information about each school's ability to support student success. School leaders can use feedback from the survey to reflect and improve schools and programs. You can learn more about the NYC School Survey by contacting your school or program. 

2025 NYC School Survey Administration

The administration window for the 2025 NYC School Survey is February 10 through April 4. 

Survey Coordinators can now register for a NYC School Survey training. There were four virtual trainings for survey coordinators at NYC schools and charters the week of January 6 and concluded on January 9.  There will be three virtual trainings for survey coordinators at Pre-K Centers, CBOs and 4410 the week of January 21.  

All sessions will cover the same content; program staff may register up until the day of each event.

2024 NYC School Survey Results

The 2024 NYC School Survey was administered from February 12, 2024 to April 19, 2024.

To see the 2024 NYC School Survey results, visit the results page on the Panorama Education site. 

Unlike previous years, 2024 results will not be shared as part of an updated School Quality Guide but as a separate report through Panorama Education’s platform. While logged into Panorama, click the “NYC Public Schools” icon to view citywide data. To view results by superintendent or grade band, select the corresponding icons to view the options in the drop-down menu.

Survey Archives

The NYC School Survey is administered annually since 2007. Survey information from 2007 through 2023, including citywide survey results and copies of the surveys, are archived on the Survey Archive page and/or on NYC Open Data.
