Summer Rising Announcement 2024

Current full-time employees and former eligible pedagogical NYC Public Schools (NYCPS) employees can now submit job applications to work Summer School (Open external link). Applications submitted after May 24, 2024, will be marked late.

Openings in Central and Administrative Offices 

Opportunities are available for current DOE employees looking for openings in Central and administrative offices. Use the online application system to view postings and apply.

Open Market Transfer System 

The Open Market Transfer System is open annually from April through August for use by current teachers and other employees in eligible UFT-titles in active service or on an approved leave who are seeking transfer to a different school. After the closing date in August, a release from your current principal is required for transfer, unless you have been placed in excess. Note that applications for new schools must be submitted using the process indicated on the new schools page, which also offers information on the new schools, positions, application process and selection criteria. Per Session Opportunities 

Information about per session opportunities and how to apply is available on the Per Session Jobs page on the DOE website. 

Information about Per Session employment and retention rights is posted annually on the OP175 form and Chancellor’s Regulation C-175 (a summary is available on the OP175 form).

Please Use the OP175 application form that is included with the advertisement for employment and to claim retention rights. Also, please work with your Per Session Supervisor to apply for a waiver.

Experienced DOE principals and assistant principals who can demonstrate sustained success in driving student achievement growth are encouraged to apply for exciting new career ladder opportunities in schools throughout the city. 

Teacher Career Pathways 

Join the over 800 teacher leaders currently working in New York City's public schools. All eligible DOE teachers are invited to participate in the central screening process. Each teacher leadership role has unique qualifications and selection criteria.
