Vision

Caregivers Alliance (formerly known as DOE Cares); our goal is to develop leadership skills and provide opportunities to hear from other working caregivers across the department and other city agencies.

Mission

Caregivers Alliance believes that by harnessing the shared experiences of caregivers and building a diverse community to collectively create opportunities for networking, developing leadership opportunities, creating mentorship pipelines, advocating, and more, we add value to our work environment and contribute to the success of New York City Public Schools.

Today, Caregivers Alliance is inclusive of all caregivers and provides a space for committed professionals to share “life hacks” related to work/life balance and provide networking and friendship opportunities for people with similar life experiences.

Caregivers Alliance is committed to promoting, securing, and helping the well-being of caregivers who are working hard to support the entire NYC public school community.  We have created a space where our members know they are not alone and can find comfort in sharing experiences that can be overwhelming for working professionals juggling work & home.

Caregivers Alliance has a steering committee that meets biweekly to coordinate workshops and member meetups, discuss advocacy work, and develop plans for future meetings.
