The following information is to help you manage your DOE account.

Reset Your Password (Using Your Current Password)

If you need to reset your password because your current password is expiring soon, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://idm.nycenet.edu/selfservice
  2. Sign in with just your username (without the @schools.nyc.gov part of your email) and your current password.
  3. The “Password & Profile Management” screen will appear.
  4. Select “Change Password”.
  5. Enter your old password.
  6. Enter a new password.
  7. Confirm the new password.
  8. Click “OK”.

Fill out a support ticket for self-service. Your password is not required. Assistance is available Monday–Friday 6AM – 5PM.

Reset Your Password (Without Your Current Password)

If you need to reset your password because forgot your current password, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://idm.nycenet.edu/selfservice
  2. Enter your username (without the @schools.nyc.gov).
  3. Click “Forgot Password” under the blue sign in box.
  4. The “Forgot Your Password” screen will appear.
  5. Answer your security questions.
  6. The “Create a new password” screen will appear.
  7. Review the criteria for a new password.
  8. Type your new password.
  9. Click “OK”.

Set Up Security Questions for Your DOE Account

If you haven’t already set up security question for your DOE (@schools.nyc.gov) account, you will be asked to do so before you can reset your password. If you don’t, you may get locked out.

Go to the Set Up Security Questions for Your DOE Account page for instructions (you'll need to sign in with a valid password).
